Poplar StreetCred is a pathway to homeownership program for Poplar residents. As a resident leasing one of our homes, you're automatically enrolled in StreetCred. Each month when you pay rent on time, you earn StreetCred points, much like airline miles. If and when you buy a home in the future with Poplar as your buyer's agent, you can redeem StreetCred points as a cash back rebate towards closing costs.

In order to get your StreetCred points as cash back, you must use Poplar as your buyer's agent and purchase a home in a state that we're licensed in. The maximum amount of cash back you can earn is up to 100% of the buyer's agent commission that we earn in the transaction (minus any costs we have towards closing).

As an example, let's say you've earned $10,000 worth of StreetCred points over the course of three years as a Poplar resident. At the end of those three years, you decide to buy a house and reach out to Poplar to be your buyer's agent. You end up purchasing a $400,000 home. The typical buyer's agent commission earned is 3% of the sale, so Poplar earns roughly $12,000 as your agent. We have $2,000 of closing costs to pay, and then Poplar sends you a check for the full $10,000 as a cash back rebate after closing on your home.
